Painted letters

Ok so I have to admit, I cheated on this one…I actually got the letters from Michaels crafts in the clearance section however they needed something more!  That is where this post comes in to play….

I purchased the letters…

I wanted something to tie them together and so I went into our garage and found some left over wood.  I cut the pieces into a plus shape.  A + B….

I wanted the distress of the other letters to match, so I took some black paint and water and did a wash on the wood.  Then I took some blue chalk and lightly covered the surface to give it some more color.

Happy Friday!

The title of this post gave it away!    But really the letter’s are not the only thing new… that’s for another day!

After painting my pantry door YELLOW, I needed something in the area that tied into the door.  I actually saw the letters EAT in a few Pinterest kitchen examples…

So what did I do…

I purchased some big letters at a craft store and spray painted them in Sunflower Yellow!

A lettered Christmas Tree…

Since having the girls, I started a girl tree.  It has a few of their ornaments and also the first letter of their first name.  I had a M for Mabel and a B for Beatrice, but I needed an L for Lucille.

I got the foam letter ornaments for my first two daughters a while ago at target and unfortunately I could not find another one for our newest daughter.  I resorted to painting a wood letter.

I drilled a hole first for the ribbon.

Then I painted it with Acrylic craft paint.

Then I sprinkled it with clear glitter.

And here it is…
